“Polonaise for Lublin”

Since 2010, the National Day of May 3rd has been traditionally celebrated together with the inhabitants of our city by dancing the “Polonaise for Lublin”. This year, a record number of couples took part in the colorful parade. The Polonaise was conducted by Krzysztof Żuk, Mayor of Lublin, together with a dancer
of the 1st Representation – Katarzyna Gieroba. In the second pair walked the Voivode of Lublin, Lech Sprawka, and in the further pair, MPs from Lublin, the authorities of our city and province. In addition to the dancers of our Ensemble, the ZTL UMCS im. Stanisław Leszczyński, Song and Dance Ensemble of the Medical University and the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Lublin University of Technology. After the joint Polonaise, a concert “Polish national and regional dances” was held at Plac Litewski, in which folklore groups from Lublin presented themselves. Ensemble “Lublin” were represented by the following groups: 1st Representation in Mazur from the opera “Halka” by Stanisław Moniuszko, 2nd Representation in the Suite of Lublin Dances, a group of Seniors in Dances of Żywiec, Lubliniacy in Łowicz dances and Lubelacy in Rzeszów dances.
